Burnley release statement on Mejbri racial abuse.

Burnley have released a statement after midfielder Hannibal Mejbri claimed Preston’s Milutin Osmajic racially abused them during Saturday’s Championship clash.

    The game at Deepdale ended in a goalless draw. With a heated exchange in the second half between Mejbri and Osmayic. With the Tunisia midfielder speaking to boss Scott Parker for several minutes after the game to address the racist abuse, and the club have reported the incident to referee Andrew Kitchen and his team.

    “Burnley Football Club is aware of comments made by สนใจสมัคร? คลิกที่นี่เพื่อเริ่มต้น Milutin Osmajic to Hannibal during our game against Preston, which were report to the referee both during and after the game,” Burnley said in a statement.

    “In the second half, Hannibal informed referee Andrew Kitchen of the incident. The club would like to thank the officials for their professional handling of the incident.

    “The club is providing full support to Hannibal and will not be making any further comment until the investigation is complete,”    

    Meanwhile, Preston released a statement on the club’s website saying Osmajic strongly denied Mejbri’s accusation that he was racist.

The two sides will meet at Deepdale again in the FA Cup fifth round on Saturday, 1 March.

In October, Osmajic was ban for eight games by the FA for biting Blackburn’s Owen Beck. He admit the charge of violent conduct and was fined £15,000.
