Chelsea’s talks to sign Aston Villa striker Jon Duran have not yet broken down. Despite talks between the two clubs stalling.

The 20-year-old Colombian forward has agreed personal terms with the Blues. But Chelsea are now reportedly looking at other options in the transfer market UFABET

Football Insider revealed on Saturday that the west London club are closing in on the signing of Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.

However, the Magpies have now addressed their financial fair play concerns with the sale of other players. And there is no need to offload Isak to raise funds. So Chelsea could revive a Duran deal in the coming weeks.

A source in a well-placed position has told Football Insider that the move is not yet a done deal. With a deal likely to be reached before the September deadline.

Duran is currently with the Colombian national team at the Copa America in the United States. Where he has already played once in that tournament.

The 20-year-old has made 37 appearances in all competitions for Villa in the 2023-24 season, scoring eight goals.

However, he started just 10 of those games, with Ollie Watkins the first-choice striker in Unai Emery’s side.

Jon Duran is contracted to Villa Park until June 2028 after joining from Chicago Fire in January 2023.
